All species are native to Maryland and have high wildlife value.
-
Plants are sourced from growers within Maryland.
-
All of the species are excellent, hardy garden plants that Jimmy has worked with for years.
-
The design incorporates a wide range of bloom times, so there should be flowers most of the time between March and September.
-
Each design thoroughly incorporates ground cover species, which will keep weeds to a minimum after establishment.
-
Plants are organized by height, so that even if their stems fall over after blooming, they will generally stay within the bed.
*Plants are chosen based on Jimmy's experience with these plants in dry, sunny conditions and relatively "poor" soil. Plants are not guaranteed to thrive where you plant them.

1 Bale of Pine Straw (Pine Needles)
-
Pine straw is an excellent first season mulch for new plugs, as the needles interlock after watering and are less likely to blow away than whole leaf litter (which is recommended for future years).

Planting Instructions
-
Once your preorder is confirmed, you will receive information to help you prepare the ground.
-
With your kit, you'll receive step-by-step instructions for laying out your plugs, planting them, watering them in, and spreading pine straw.

Additionally, you'll get a maintenance plan to take you all the way into your second spring.
-
If you have any questions, Jimmy can also help answer your questions.
