Plant Concierge Service
Even experienced gardeners find it challenging to source native plants. This service helps you get the plants you want, without sacrificing quality or cost.
Why shop with me?
Species Native to Maryland
Navigating native plant species can be complicated. I will review your order using ecologist-recommended resources to ensure your desired plants are native to our region of Maryland and recommended for residential planting. I can also suggest companion plants that will complement your selections and increase your bloom time coverage.
Sourced from the Professional Marketplace
Instead of chasing plant sales, driving to distant nurseries, or ordering from out-of-state, you can leave the logistics to me. I will ensure you get the best plants that each of my wholesale growers has to offer. Plus, if you're ordering a large number of one plant, cost-saving plugs are often available.
Higher Ecological Value
Tired of dodging cultivars, clones, and other low-value selections? When searching for your plants, I prioritize these qualities, in this order:

1. Local Ecotype
2. Locally Grown
3. Straight Species

Occasionally a cultivar will be the best option for a given species. I will always walk through your options and alternatives with you, before finalizing your order.
Same Nursery Prices,
with Delivery Included
As your personal plant concierge, delivery is always included in my pricing, which is comparable to what you'd expect to see at your favorite native nursery. Additionally, most deliveries are made with my wind-powered EV (aka, "The Sailboat").
A few details:
Free delivery is limited to my service area, 20 miles from Laurel, MD.
A fee may apply for further distances and some areas are beyond current service capabilities.
On average, plugs are $4 each and quarts are $9 each. Gallon prices vary. Local ecotype often costs a few dollars more.

The minimum order for each delivery is roughly $200.
How does it work?
Identify the plants you want to buy.
-
This service is for gardeners who know what they want to buy (mostly). If you're in need of design guidance and general native gardening advice, an on-site consultation is a great way to start that process.
-
The scientific name is preferred, and the common name is nice to have.
-
If you have a primary list, and want help filling in a few species or challenging areas, that's totally fine. You'll be able to include that information when you submit your order.
-
Try to avoid Maryland rare/threatened/endangered plants (S1, S2, S3), as only exotic cousins from other regions are available in the trade. Instead, focus on more common species for residential garden plantings. There are exceptions to every rule and I'm happy to discuss particular species with you in more detail.
